Bush Chooks on the Beach

You can almost forget about the outside world on days like yesterday. The ocean brings everybody into the present moment. Our town comes alive. The roads are a dangerous place to be when surfers are blindly driving, eyes only for the horizon, checking for swell lines and counting heads in the lineup. There’s a buzz in the air when an unexpected swell hits our coastline. The pro’s are out, the spectators are sitting with an open case of bush chooks next to them on the beach hooting at their mates eating sh*t when they come off a wave. Photographers are lining the shoreline hoping to get that shot of the local heroes.. It’s why I moved here. It’s why I love the surf culture and this cosy little corner of the South West.

Amelia & Kayne | Albany Wedding Photographer ~ Love Fest

Well, there’s no time like the present. It’s taken me a couple of years to bring this incredible celebration to the blog but going over and reediting these memories brought tears to my eyes again. I just love these humans.

When two of your best friends get married on their family’s property in Albany, with people flying in from around the world, and all of your other best friends make a long weekend out of it, bringing caravans, tents, vans and teepees, surfboards, hoolahoops and a very well practised drinking ability. You know you’re in for a good time.

Laughing until we cried, crying until we laughed. (Mostly Kayne.) Fields of ivy, smoking cigars, shirts being ripped off on the d-floor & chugging champas and emu export until the sun came up.

This wedding was absolutely stunning and styled by the bride herself.

I’m pretty sure everyone in attendance can agree the highlight of the wedding was their entrance into the reception, full gangsta rapping down the hill to Kendrick Lamar’s HUMBLE into full on dancefloor. (Classiest bride ever. Take a look.)
